Job Description
The Director of Nursing and Facility Administrator is responsible for the oversight of assigned departments and/or facility. Responsible for the patient care provided in their assigned areas. Responsible for resource management, including but not limited to human resources, materials and financial resources, and day-to-day operations of the facility. Demonstrates competence with licensed functions, marketing, team building, budget and strategic planning.
In a correctional institution, this position also ensures that clinical operations are carried out in compliance with all security procedures and correctional facility rules. Must be knowledgeable and compliant with State and Federal regulations that govern correctional healthcare services, as well as any credentialing agencies or governing bodies. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, including enforcement of corporate and facility policies and the development and enforcement of department-specific policies. Responsible for customer, employee, and provider satisfaction initiatives within a secure correctional environment.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or in process of achieving degree. Master’s degree preferred. Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in area of responsibility. 1 to 3 years leadership experience preferred.
Licenses/Certificates:
• RN Licensure in South Carolina or Compact Licensure Agreement
• Certification in area of responsibility preferred
• AHA BLS Certification
Working Conditions
Works in a well-lighted, air-conditioned, and heated office environment located within a secure correctional institution. May require entering inmate housing or restricted areas for clinical oversight, rounding, inspections, or operational coordination. Must maintain awareness of correctional safety protocols and work collaboratively with correctional staff.

State licensure and/or professional certification requirement/s dependent on position.
