Our Clinical Neurophysiology Lab proudly comprises five accredited labs including an IOM team, Outpatient EEG team, Inpatient EEG team, EMG team and Neurovascular team.

Job Description

The Electroencephalography (EEG) Technician IV of the Clinical Neurophysiology Services reports
to the Inpatient EEG Coordinator of the Clinical Neurophysiology Services. Under general
supervision, the EEG Technician IV records high quality studies, by means of electronic
equipment, neurophysiologic potentials for the diagnosis and prognosis of diseases and
conditions involving the nervous system. This position demonstrates competence and works
under indirect supervision (EEG Coordinator or physician must be immediately available for
assistance during all procedures). This role requires independent and efficient performance of EEG
studies and supports the Clinical Neurophysiology Services department, ICCE and Medical Center goals. Goals include achievement of clinical and quality measures, operational efficiency, financial targets as well as population/age specific needs of the department. This role functions as a mentor and resource for staff and patients. The EEG Tech IV participates on committees, investigates new practices to present their peers and serves a preceptor for the unit. Annual submission and acceptance of the Clinical Neurophysiology Career Ladder Application is required.

Additional Job Description

Graduation from a CAAHEP accredited program of Electroneurodiagnostic (END) technology or the equivalent and registered as an EEG Technician by ABRET required and must be maintained. One year EEG Technician work experience required. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
