Job Description Summary

The EHR Specialist III/Team Lead assists the EHR Manager in supporting the Health Information Services mission of ensuring the integrity, security, access, and accuracy of the electronic health record. This position serves as a subject matter expert for complex EHR issues and processes, including technical functionality and reporting. Assists in identification of dept. learning needs and initiates/ monitors performance improvement activities. Coaches and transfers knowledge to HIS peers and staff.

Job Description

The EHR Specialist III/Team Lead assists the EHR Manager in supporting the Health Information Services mission of ensuring the integrity, security, access, and accuracy of the electronic health record. This position serves as a subject matter expert for complex EHR issues and processes, including technical functionality and reporting.  Assists in identification of dept. learning needs and initiates/ monitors performance improvement activities.  Coaches and transfers knowledge to HIS peers and staff.            

Additional Job Description

Associate degree or higher preferred, with 7 years of experience in healthcare, legal/ risk, or the insurance industry, including at least 5 years’ experience in a health information management type setting.  Demonstrated proficiency using computers in a workplace setting.  Must be detail-oriented & able to work effectively with complex stakeholders.  RHIA, RHIT, and/or PM certification preferred.

Skills include ability to problem-solve complex EHR, chart correction, and/or Identity issues and the ability to represent the department with professionalism and a customer-focused approach.
