Job Description
The following Adult Zones are available on the Float Team. Please note in your application which unit(s) you prefer. To qualify for a zone, you must have at least one year of experience in that specialty.
Adult Acute Care
You will float between Cardiac, Gastrointestinal, Neurology, Transplant, Oncology, General Medical and Surgical floors in both Main Hospital and Ashley River Tower Hospital.
Adult Critical Care
You will float between the Surgical Trauma Burn ICU, Cardiac ICUs, Medical and Surgical ICUs, and if needed you may float to Intermediate floors in both the Main Hospital and Ashley River Tower Hospital.
Emergency Department
You will float between the Main Hospital ED (1 West), Ashley River Tower ED (Chest Pain Center) and Psychiatric ED (DPod).
Institute of Psychiatry
You will float between the Senior Care Unit, General Adult Psychiatric Unit, Pediatric Psychiatric Unit, Addictions Unit, Acute Care Unit and Psychiatric ER in the Institute of Psychiatry Hospital. If needed, you may also float to some of the EDs to provide care for boarder psychiatric patients.

.15 FTE: 1-12 hour shift/2 weeks
.3 FTE: 1-12 hour shift/week
.6 FTE: 2-12 hour shifts/week
.75 FTE: 2-12 hour shifts/week one & 3-12 hour shifts/week two
.9 FTE: 3-12 hour shifts/week
Up to $10k sign-on bonus for full-time position with a 2-year service agreement for external candidates who have a minimum of 2-years of experience in zone offered.
Job Summary/Purpose:
The Registered Nurse II under general supervision provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired outcomes.
Minimum Training and Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and a minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse is required. Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred. RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing are required to initiate education for BSN within 2 years and complete within four years of hire date. Employees are required to sign an agreement regarding the education requirement.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Some positions require certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

(Infrequent) Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force. (Frequent) Examples include: To transfer a 100 lb. patient that cannot assist in the transfer requires 50 lbs. of force. For every 100 additional pounds, assistance will be required from another healthcare worker. 20 lbs. of force is needed to push a 400 lb. patient in a wheelchair on carpet. 25 lbs. of force is required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand. Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. (Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance. (Continuous) Ability to match or discriminate between colors. (Continuous) Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception. (Continuous) Good peripheral vision capabilities. (Continuous) Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction.
