Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent and two years of Human Resources or administrative experience with a primary focus on interacting with customers and Human Resources activities.  Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.

Work Environment:

Primarily works in an office environment, numerous meetings, subject to many interruptions including numerous phone calls and responding to employees and the public.  Occasionally works irregular hours.

Essential Functions:

Greets and assists visitors; answers walk in, phone and email requests (or directs them to appropriate person) within 24 hours.  Manages central HR phone system and fax machine daily routing appropriately.

Manages applicant flow by maintaining and assisting applicants in the Career Center and reports issues to IT, including computer failure and password reset. Also, assists applicants called in by hiring managers for interviews.

Assists with all pre-employment activities, such as Employee Health Assessments, I-9 verification, and other onboarding documents.

Ensures E-Verify is completed.

Maintains and audits licensure:

First point of contact for basic HR department questions.  Orders supply for the HR department.  Maintains HR conference room schedule ensuring the room is organized.

Performs all other duties as requested by HR leadership.

 Physical Requirements:

Physical requirements are primarily related to the essential functions of any job. In order to perform the essential functions of this position, you must be able to walk, stand, use hands, reach, talk and hear.

Must be able to lift or exert energy up to 10-25 pounds 50% of the time. Close vision and color vision are required.

Mental Requirements:

Must possess the ability to read and interpret HR policies and manuals, and general benefit information. Ability to prepare basic letter correspondence and/or memos is required. 

Ability to perform basic math functions to include calculating percentages, and averages.

Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.  The ability to deal with concrete and abstract concepts and interpret verbal, nonverbal and written instructions is necessary.

Age Groups:

This position primarily interacts with adults and aging adults and provides no direct patient care.  All staff members must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to meet the physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related need of the persons in the assigned work area.
