Job Description Summary
Responsible for developing and executing comprehensive internal communications strategies that drive employee engagement, enhance organizational understanding, and align messaging with strategic priorities. This role develops and delivers high-impact communications across multiple platforms, supports executive and leadership communications, and ensures brand consistency across all channels.

Serves as a trusted communications partner to leadership, developing compelling communication collateral, delivering polished presentations to diverse audiences crafting messaging that supports change and engagement initiatives, and managing communication channels and content. This individual uses data-driven insights to evaluate effectiveness, optimize messaging, and improve reach and engagement across diverse audiences.

Responsibilities
1. Communications Strategy & Execution
• Develops and executes internal communications strategies and programs that influence employee engagement, organizational awareness, and alignment with key initiatives.
• Partners with executives and senior leaders to develop and deliver messaging that supports business priorities and change initiatives.
• Creates targeted communication plans for initiatives such as system updates, organizational changes, and major events.
Success Criteria:
• Demonstrated improvement in engagement metrics and communication effectiveness scores
• Clear alignment between communications and organizational strategy
• Positive feedback from leadership and stakeholders

2. Content Development & Communication Delivery
• Develops and delivers a wide range of communication collateral, including newsletters, presentations, intranet content, and social media messaging.
• Drafts, edits, and refines messaging to meet the needs of diverse audiences (clinical, academic, business, and technical).
• Ensures all materials reflect a high level of professionalism, clarity, and brand alignment.

Success Criteria:
• High-quality, engaging, and audience-appropriate communications
• Consistent execution of polished and effective presentation materials

3. Data Analysis, Reporting & Optimization
• Gathers, analyzes, and interprets communication performance data (e.g., readership, engagement analytics).
• Translates data insights into actionable recommendations to improve communication effectiveness.
• Develop dashboards or reporting mechanisms to communicate results to stakeholders.
Success Criteria:
• Regular reporting on communication effectiveness and trends
• Data-driven improvements implemented and measurable
• Increased readership and engagement metrics

4. Digital Channels & Communication Platforms
• Manages and maintains internal communication channels, including intranet, SharePoint sites, Teams channels, newsletters, and social media platforms.
• Applies advanced knowledge of digital tools and communication technologies to optimize engagement.
• Utilizes multi-channel strategies to maximize reach and effectiveness.
Success Criteria:
• Up-to-date and intuitive communication platforms
• Increased traffic and engagement on digital channels
• Effective use of multi-channel communication approaches

5. Leadership Support & Stakeholder Engagement
• Serves as an internal communications advisor to leadership teams, supporting executive messaging, presentations, and forums.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams, committees, and workgroups to identify communication needs and develop relevant messaging.
Success Criteria:
• Strong relationships with senior leaders and stakeholders
• Effective execution of leadership communications and events
• Timely and accurate communication of critical information

6. Oversight, Collaboration & Process Improvement
• Continuously evaluates and improves communication processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Ensures alignment of messaging across departments, divisions, and the broader organization.

• Alignment across organizational messaging

• Experience working within healthcare systems or academic medical environments

Additional Job Description

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or a related field and 4-7 years of related experience required.
