Job Description

As an Inpatient Physical Therapist, you’ll play a vital role in helping patients regain strength, mobility, confidence, and independence. Every treatment is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a patient’s journey toward recovery.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and treatments in accordance with established standards of practice.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, goals, and functional abilities.
  • Provide physical therapy services across various inpatient settings.
  • Initiate and complete evaluations and treatment plans at the patient’s first scheduled appointment.
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate.
  • Provide therapeutic exercise programs and patient/family education to promote independence and safe mobility.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation, including evaluations, treatment plans, daily progress notes, discharge summaries, exercise programs, and patient/family education within 24 hours of each visit.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team to support the best possible outcomes.

Additional Job Description

Education:

  • Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program.

Licensure/Certification:

  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist by the South Carolina Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required prior to providing patient care.
