Job Description Summary

The position is responsible for assisting the MR Manager with daily operations of the MRI department.
They monitor MRI staff, prioritize patient workload and provide guidance and accountability to team members. They must be able to fully function in all areas of the department.

They are expected to perform MRI examinations, including breast biopsies according to ACR standards, for interpretation by a physician. They are required to have a sound understanding of MRI safety, anatomy, physics and optimization of MRI protocols. They should possess the ability to act with initiative and ingenuity with minimal supervision. We prefer someone who is self-driven, positive and encouraging, passionate about MRI, and an effective communicator.

Additional Job Description

Education: Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.  

Work Experience: 0-2 years of modality specific experience required.

Registration/Certifications: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). ARRT MRI registration required within one year. Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA  recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.

Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. (Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance.
