Job Description Summary

"The Operating Room LPN administers intra-operative care to patients within the surgical/operating room environment. Care is provided in collaboration with anesthesia, surgeons and other staff members. Under the supervision of the OR RN, Supervisor/Manager/Director, the OR LPN:
• Integrates physiologic, medical, surgical, and anesthetic information to give appropriate patient care.
• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, delegate, supervise and document care.
• Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.
• Cares for surgical patients of all ages and all levels of acuity.
• Coordinates care of patients groups with multi-system needs.
• Scrubs into surgery, performing as a surgical technologist.

Job Description

Additional Job Description

Education: High School Graduate or hold a GED certificate preferred.  Completion of an approved LPN program.

Experience:  Previous OR experience preferred.

 Licenses/Certificates: Licensed as an LPN in the state of South Carolina.  BLS required.
