MUSC Health is seeking a licensed LPN or RN to serve as a Nurse Educator within our Workforce Development team. This role is ideal for a nurse who is ready to transition from bedside care into a meaningful educator position while continuing to influence clinical excellence across our Midlands Division locations.
As a Nurse Educator for our DHHS-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Apprenticeship Program, you will prepare students to successfully complete the Nurse Aide Competency Exam through classroom instruction, simulation, and hands-on clinical experiences at MUSC Health Midlands. This position plays a critical role in strengthening the healthcare workforce pipeline for our region.

MUSC Health is seeking a licensed LPN or RN to serve as a Nurse Educator within our Workforce Development team. This role is ideal for a nurse who is ready to transition from bedside care into a meaningful educator position while continuing to influence clinical excellence across our Midlands Division locations.

As a Nurse Educator for our DHHS-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Apprenticeship Program, you will prepare students to successfully complete the Nurse Aide Competency Exam through classroom instruction, simulation, and hands-on clinical experiences at MUSC Health Midlands. This position plays a critical role in strengthening the healthcare workforce pipeline for our region.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Instruction & Student Development (Primary Focus)

  • Deliver classroom, simulation lab, and clinical instruction aligned with DHHS-approved CNA curriculum
  • Create engaging, student-centered learning environments
  • Evaluate student competency and provide individualized coaching and feedback
  • Prepare students for successful completion of the Nurse Aide Competency Exam
  • Maintain grading, attendance, and academic documentation
  • Teaching days are typically two days per week (8:00am–4:00pm), with additional time allocated for preparation, grading, and coordination activities.

2. Program Coordination & Compliance

  • Coordinate clinical placements and preceptor schedules
  • Manage cohort documentation in collaboration with Workforce Development and Midlands Technical College
  • Support Apprenticeship Carolina documentation and hour tracking requirements
  • Ensure compliance with MUSC Health, DHHS, and educational partner standards
  • Utilize student and unit feedback to continuously improve instructional delivery

3. Recruitment, Retention & Community Engagement

  • Participate in candidate interviews and cohort selection
  • Support apprentice onboarding processes
  • Conduct regular touchpoints to promote apprentice retention and success
  • Represent MUSC Health at community outreach events, job fairs, and advisory meetings as needed

Job Requirements:

· Education

  • Current South Carolina LPN or RN license (or compact state RN license)
  • Minimum one (1) year of inpatient nursing experience
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the Midlands service area

· Work Experience

  • Three (3) or more years of inpatient experience
  • Experience teaching, training, precepting, or mentoring nursing staff or students
  • Prior involvement in CNA education, workforce training, or apprenticeship programs
