      Job Description

      The CNA instructor is responsible for leading and directing students toward their goal of satisfactory completion of the Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) course.

      Job Responsibilities:

      · Responsible for providing instruction within the CNA program. Teach approved curriculum and course work.

      · Assist in patient care and clinical teaching situations, or demonstrate ability to perform tasks successful

      · Performs any type of administrative duties during the day that support the apprenticeship, including things such as coordinating with the admin assistant with Midlands Technical College.

      · Coordinating daily calendars/schedules, collecting, and organizing information regarding meeting minutes, active apprenticeships, and new apprentices.

      · Communicates with all current apprentices and potential candidates. This includes cold calls and placing people on the official waiting list for next cohort start.

      · Maintain a current updated contact list for all apprentices and waiting list for upcoming cohorts.

      · Reviewing applications upon submission, scheduling interviews, participating in interviews, coordinating with offers and pre-employment appointments. Once new apprentices come in for pre-employment, they come to the office for documentation that Midlands Technical College and Apprenticeship Carolina needs.

      · Send completed initial intake paperwork to Midlands Technical College, coordinate with the IT team at MTC to get new class set up in D2L for new cohorts, register apThe CNA instructor is responsible for leading and directing students toward their goal of satisfactory
      completion of the Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) course.prentices in Rapids and then submit completed Apprenticeship Carolina paperwork to their sharelink file.

      · Curriculum updates customized to each cohort and in accordance with DHHS (SC Department of Health & Human Services) standards.

      · When cohorts are in session, the days off from teaching: grading any written assignments given, creating new practice assignments (i.e. Kahoots) based on specific cohort,

      averaging grades, getting documentation completed for MUSC Health and MTC. Coordinating clinicals with devoted units, contacting preceptors and scheduling on-the-job training for the apprentices.

      · Scheduling meetings with current independent apprentices to touch base and maintain 2000 hours for Apprenticeship Carolina. Evaluate students' progress and give feedback to help them improve their skills.

      · When waiting for cohorts to pick up, assisting in other as needed duties.

      Job Requirements:

      · Education

      o Minimum: Graduation from recognized Licensed Practical Nursing program and licensed as an LPN within the state of South Carolina.

      o Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

      · Work Experience

      o Minimum: One (1) year of inpatient RN experience and one (1) year of long-term care, Rehab or LPN experience.

      o Preferred Three: (3) years of inpatient RN experience. Skills teaching or didactic teaching experience.

      Additional Job Description

      Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred. RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing are required to be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and successfully obtain a BSN degree within four years of the RN hire or reclassification date. Refer to policy A141 for more details. A minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse required. Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required
