Job Description

As a Mobility Technician, you’ll be the bridge between care and independence. Working alongside nurses and therapists, you’ll play a hands-on role in helping patients safely move, walk, and regain strength. Your support doesn’t just prevent injuries—it promotes confidence, dignity, and recovery.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist nursing and therapy teams with safe patient transfers, repositioning, and ambulation.

  • Perform mobility rounding to keep patients active and on track with their mobility goals.

  • Use safe patient handling equipment—lifts, gait belts, slide sheets, Sara Stedy, Hoyer, and more.

  • Collaborate with RNs, CNAs, and PT/OT staff to ensure the right level of assistance for every patient.

  • Encourage and promote early mobility for ICU, PCU, and Telemetry patients.

  • Keep mobility equipment clean, functional, and ready to roll.

  • Support fall prevention and safety initiatives across the unit.

  • Educate patients and families on safe movement and the power of activity.

  • Participate in team huddles to identify trends, celebrate progress, and remove barriers.

Additional Job Description

Minimum Education: A high school diploma or GED required.

Required Licensure, Certifications, and Registrations: Currently registered as a Certified Nurse Assistant in South Carolina, and Basic Life Support (BLS) with the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
