Job Description Summary

Operates imaging equipment (radiographic, fluoroscopic, portable, C-arm, MRI , NM , US and CT) following radiation safety guidelines based on hospital policy and regulatory requirements. Provides radiographic support for all areas of the Hospital as needed. Operates other patient care equipment/devices as appropriate oxygen, suction, syringes, monitors, blood pressure cuff, stethoscope, wheelchairs, stretchers and compression devices. Position patients accurately for specific anatomic imaging using appropriate immobilization devices when required.

Job Description/Summary: The MRI Technologist II specializes in magnetic resonance imaging scanners. Responsible for injecting patients with contrast media, such as a dye, so that the images will show up on the scanner. The scanners use magnetic fields in combination with the contrast agent to produce images that a physician can use to diagnose medical problems.     

Minimum Training and Education
Graduate from an accredited school of radiologic technology or MRI. One year of radiology or MRI experience preferred. Willing to cross train.


Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations

Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in (MR).


Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.

For every 100 additional pounds, assistance will be required from another healthcare worker. 20 lbs. of force is needed to push a 400 lb. patient in a wheelchair on carpet. 25 lbs. of force is required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand. Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. (Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance. (Continuous) Ability to match or discriminate between colors. (Continuous) Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception. (Continuous) Good peripheral vision capabilities. (Continuous) Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction. Additional Job Description

Education: Graduate from an accredited school of radiologic technology. Work Experience: 1+ year of Radiologic experienceMust be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT), and licensed by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA). Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
