Job Description

The MUSC Health Charleston Division Operations Manager is a vital member of the Operations Team, reporting to the CHS Operations leadership. Under limited supervision, the Operations Manager will support the Charleston Division by facilitating and monitoring ongoing day-to-day operations and initiatives. This includes but is not limited to providing support to Environmental Services (EVS), Food and Nutrition Services (FANS), other purchased services, data analysis, space review/assessment, committee support, emergency management support, and project management within the designated facility(s). This role will have responsibility for supporting the CHS Division Executive team as needed. 

 

This position supports workforce and operational planning processes by facilitating discussions, gathering operational and staffing-related data, and coordinating follow-up activities to support leadership decision-making. The Operations Manager may assist in monitoring staffing needs, operational changes, and resource allocation, while ensuring timely communication and the escalation of operational priorities.

 

 The Operations Manager assists with planning and coordinating special projects, operational initiatives, and cross-functional activities. This role supports leadership with operational improvement efforts and helps ensure coordination across departments and stakeholders. The position may also participate in emergency operations and provide operational coverage as needed.


The Operations Manager will build relationships with leaders and staff across centralized system functions, collaborating to promote and execute Operational priorities and projects. They are responsible for partnering with the leaders to identify, validate, and oversee performance metrics, operational capabilities, and continual process improvement initiatives in alignment with the MUSC pillar goals through the consistent application of values and code of conduct.

 

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university required; Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (MBA, MHA, MPH, etc.) preferred. A minimum of 2-5 years of work experience in project management, process improvement, operational support, or completion of an administrative fellowship.
