Job Description Summary

The Patient Experience Coordinator reports to the Patient Experience Manager. Under general supervision, the Patient Experience Coordinator works with patients and their families to address concerns or special needs that may arise during their course of treatment. This role acts as an intermediary between hospital departments, administration and the patient/family to bring about the most effective healthcare treatment and positive hospital experience. The Patient Experience Coordinator provides basic administrative support to the Guest Services Department. This position will serve as the Patient and Family Advisory Council Staff Liaison.

Job Description

Position Purpose

The Patient Experience Coordinator reports to the Patient Experience Manager. Under general supervision, the Patient Experience Coordinator works with patients and their families to address concerns or special needs that may arise during their course of treatment. This role acts as an intermediary between hospital departments, administration and the patient/family to bring about the most effective healthcare treatment and positive hospital experience. The Patient Experience Coordinator provides basic administrative support to the Guest Services Department. This position will serve as the Patient and Family Advisory Council Staff Liaison.

Requirements (Education, Work Experience, Licensure, Registry &/or Certifications)

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university and two years directly related customer service work experience or an associate's degree and three years directly related customer service work experience. Prior supervisory experience is beneficial. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required. Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, family’s members, visitors, guests, physicians, employers, and vendors professionally and clearly. Must be self-directed and have the ability to problem solve and implement solutions. Must be able to work in a positive and cooperative manner with care team members. Position may require ability to work weekends and staggered shifts.   Experience with computers is required, to include Microsoft Office programs.  Experience using an Electronic Medical Record is preferred.

Additional Job Description

Education and Experience: Bachelors Degree and 2 years work experience; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 5 years experience required.
