Prepares and administers radioactive chemical compounds known as radiopharmaceuticals. Knowledgeable in IV placement to avoid extravasations of radiopharmaceuticals. Performs computer processing and image enhancement. Provides images, data analysis, and patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation. Provides excellent patient care. Job Description
Requirements (Education, Work Experience, Licensure, Registry &/or Certifications)
Must be a certified nuclear medicine technologist (CNMT) or registered technologist (RT(N)) or certification or registry eligible with a B.S. or B.A. preferred. Should have acquired skills from CAHEA approved program and preferably, one or two years’ experience in a similar position. Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA)
BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for
Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Proactively maintains and renews ARRT, state license, BLS, PPD, respirator fit test, and POC training.

Education: Graduate of an ARRT or NMTCB recognized Nuclear Medicine Program required. Work Experience: At least two years of modality specific experience required. Must be a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) from the NMTCB or Registered Technologist (RT (N)) from ARRT with a B.S. or B.A. preferred. Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA) required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred. SKILL SETS: Fully competent in advanced modality skill sets and flexible to rotate.
