Job Description Summary

The Preboarding Specialist I/Recruiter Assistant completes all activity related to the new hire process after an offer is accepted to Day 1 to include ensuring all pre-employment requirements are completed; new hires are cleared to attend new hire orientation; inputs all new hire information into HRIS; and ensures each new hire is on the orientation list. This position provides a weekly report on the number of candidates cleared and pending by the department. This role is a hybrid position and thus the ideal candidate will live in the greater Charleston, South Carolina or surrounding Preboarding Specialist I completes all activity related to the new hire process after an offer is accepted to Day One to include ensuring all pre-employment requirements are completed; new hires are cleared to attend new hire orientation; inputs all new hire information into OurDay and ensures each new hire is on the orientation list.

Job Description

The role of the Preboarding Specialist is to ensure a timely and thorough onboarding of new hires and nonpaid individuals. The Preboarding Specialist will serve as the primary customer service contact for questions from hiring managers and new hires regarding onboarding and orientation requirements. The successful candidate will be representing the department by communicating and interacting in a professional, quality customer-service oriented manner and providing excellent customer service to new hires and individuals seeking non-paid opportunities, as well as hiring managers and other departments. The Preboarding Specialist will be instrumental in creating a positive employee experience for new hires as they transition from applicants to employees. This position is an entry level human resources position with an existing career ladder for advancement.

***Candidates are required to be on site on Mondays as early as 7 am.***

 

Ability to work successfully and professionally with all levels of employees and candidates. 

Ability to understand basic technical concepts and explain them in simple terms. 

Quick learner. 

Ability to troubleshoot, identify improvements, and make simple decisions independently. 

Strong attention to detail with ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks at once. 

Strong team player with a results driven approach and who can work with limited guidance. 

Energetic person with strong interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening.  

Strong Microsoft Suite experience. 

Heavy use of phone, computer and email applications. 

Demonstrated ability to pivot in an ever-changing environment. 

Experience with Spreadsheets preferred. 

Experience with Workday preferred

Additional Job Description

Associates ’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related field from an accredited college or university, or High School Diploma or equivalent and two years of progressively responsible, business or customer service related experience in a fast pace work environment.  PHR or SHRM-CP certifications accepted in lieu of experience.
