Job Description Summary

Under limited supervision, the Privacy Analyst has responsibility for monitoring the day to day activities of MUHA in furtherance of its privacy compliance objectives. The Privacy Analyst works in conjunction with and under the supervision of the MUSC Heath Director of Privacy.

Job Description

The Privacy Analyst (1) conducts various HIPAA audits and responds to inquiries; (2) conducts HIPAA site visits; (3) coordinates, develops and provides training for successful maintenance of the HIPAA Privacy program; (4) Coordinates the investigation and response to reported allegations and questions, ensures completion of all necessary follow-up actions and reporting requirements; (5) Ensures questions and allegations are logged in the matter management system; (6) facilitates communications between areas of the organization that approach the Privacy Office; (7) Assists in the annual review of policies and procedures as it relates to Privacy; (8) other duties as assigned.

A bachelor’s degree and two years of related experience, or an internal candidate with a high school diploma and at least four years of related experience. Must possess the ability to plan, organize and present ideas clearly in both oral (includes live training) and written form. Incumbent must be flexible and able to work in a varied and sometimes hectic environment. 

This is a demanding position that requires the incumbent to simultaneously address a number of tasks.
