The Radiology RN Supervisor directly reports to the Radiology Manager and indirectly to the Medical Director. Under the direction of the Medical Director, and in collaboration with the IR supervisor and IR manager, the Radiology RN Supervisor supervises (Vascular Interventional Radiology) VIR procedural nursing at ART and MH, VIR prep/recovery nursing (CH 5th floor) and patient care coordinator staff. Job Summary/Purpose: The Radiology RN Supervisor directly reports to the Radiology Manager and indirectly to the Medical Director. Under the direction of the Medical Director, and in collaboration with the IR supervisor and IR manager, the Radiology RN Supervisor supervises (Vascular Interventional Radiology) VIR procedural nursing at ART and MH, VIR prep/recovery nursing (CH 5th floor) and patient care coordinator staff. This role participates in the overall patient care experience within Vascular Interventional Radiology (VIR) to include nursing assessments and professional and clinical development.
Minimum Training and Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing and a minimum of two years critical care nursing experience required. Supervisory or other leadership experience including clinical radiology interventional experience preferred.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Licensure a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or compact state required. Certification as a generalist in a related specialty area by the American Nurses Association (ANA) preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.

For every 100 additional pounds, assistance will be required from another healthcare worker. 20 lbs. of force is needed to push a 400 lb. patient in a wheelchair on carpet. 25 lbs. of force is required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand. Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. (Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance. (Continuous) Ability to match or discriminate between colors. (Continuous) Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception.
