Job Description Summary
The RN Supervisor, in collaboration with the RT supervisor reports directly to the VIR Operations manager. The RN supervisor will function as a designated leader to provide operational oversight and RN staffing supervision. Utilizing evidence-based practices and adhering to MUSC policies the RN supervisor oversees individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process. The RN supervisor assumes the responsibility as the clinical expert and resource related to VIR nursing care. The RN supervisor helps support safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired outcomes. As assigned, this position provides department/shift leadership in RSL role.Entity

Job Summary/Purpose: The RN Supervisor, in collaboration with the RT supervisor reports directly to the VIR Operations manager. Minimum Training and Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing and a minimum of two years critical care nursing experience required. Supervisory or other leadership experience including clinical radiology interventional experience preferred.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Licensure a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or compact state required. Certification as a generalist in a related specialty area by the American Nurses Association (ANA) preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.

For every 100 additional pounds, assistance will be required from another healthcare worker. 20 lbs. of force is needed to push a 400 lb. patient in a wheelchair on carpet. 25 lbs. of force is required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand. Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. (Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance.
