Job Description Summary

To coordinate the activities of the Movement Disorders clinic. The RN will coordinate the outreach and patient education activities for the clinic. The nurse will also be a resource for Movement Disorders patients in the clinic as directed by the movement disorders attendings.

Job Description

  • Assist provider with clinic visit on an as-needed basis
  • Attend clinic appointments for advanced patients as needed
  • Assess needs of patients at these clinic appointments
  • Set up interdisciplinary clinic (scheduling, mailing materials, pre-clinic assessments, educational materials, summaries, coordination of referrals, relaying results)
  • Provision of telehealth (needs assessment for patients)
  • Meet with other providers, case managers, and social workers, and collaborate on common patients and referral workflows
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team regarding shared patients and referrals
  • Community outreach and educational event planning
  • Facilitate communication between patients and providers and schedule appointments as needed
  • Submission of referrals
  • Assist with orders for devices/DME
  • Assist with patient care/COE tasks as needed/delegated

Additional Job Description

Bachelor’s degree in nursing required and three years related nursing experience. Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Some positions require certification as a generalist in a related specialty area by the American Nurses Association (ANA). Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required
