The Therapeutic Assistant on the 2N Youth Psych Unit reports to the Nurse Manager. Under the direction of a registered nurse the Therapeutic Assistant is responsible for providing patient care as directed by the multi- disciplinary treatment plan and the daily assignment sheet. The Therapeutic Assistant assists with patient admission on discharge processes, monitors and promotes the safety of the therapeutic environment, assure that patient’s activities of daily living are maintained, and supports the therapeutic program.Entity

The Therapeutic Assistant on the 2N Youth Psych Unit reports to the Nurse Manager. Under the direction of a registered nurse the Therapeutic Assistant is responsible for providing patient care as directed by the multi- disciplinary treatment plan and the daily assignment sheet. The Therapeutic Assistant assists with patient admission on discharge processes, monitors and promotes the safety of the therapeutic environment, assure that patient’s activities of daily living are maintained, and supports the therapeutic program.
Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral science or related field which provides guidelines for determination of significant aspects of human behavior required. Experience in therapeutic programs in the field of mental health or retardation is preferred. Computer Literacy.
Certified in BLS and Safety Care within the first 6 months of employment and annually thereafter for Safety Care & biannually for BLS.
Additional Job Description
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Behavioral health or a related healthcare experience preferred. Certification in Basic Life Support required within 2 weeks of hire. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required Certification in de-escalation training within the orientation period for employment and annually thereafter and biannually for BLS.If you like working with energetic enthusiastic individuals, you will enjoy your career with us!
