Job Description

The Unit Secretary processes physician orders, places data on patient charts, keeps an adequate amount of forms on the charts, and answers the phone. She/he is responsible for keeping needed items ordered for the unit through materials management. Reports to the Charge Nurse/Clinical Director. May function as a preceptor for (and thus be accountable for) orienting unit clerks. Responsible for demonstrating ethical and appropriate behavior.

Additional Job Description

Minimum Education: A high school diploma or GED required.

License/Certification: Basic Life Support with the American Heart Association is required.
