Job Description

The Assistant Director of Grants Administration provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for a team of Grants Administrators supporting post-award financial management, compliance, and cost accounting activities for sponsored awards within the Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA).

This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, compliant, and efficient administration of complex grants and contracts, while advancing process improvements, strengthening internal controls, and supporting the continued development of MUHA’s Grants and Research Division infrastructure.

Additional Job Description

Minimum Requirements:
•    Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, accounting, or related field. 
•    Progressive experience in grants and contracts administration, including post-award financial management.
•    Experience with enterprise systems (e.g., Workday) and financial reporting tools. 
•    Demonstrated knowledge of federal regulations, grant compliance, and accounting principles.
•    Prior experience in a supervisory role.

Preferred Qualifications:
•    Ten or more years of experience in sponsored research administration within a health system, higher education, or not-for-profit setting. 
•    Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage complex portfolios. 
•    Four or more years of supervisory experience. 
•    Extensive knowledge of Workday, including involvement in grants module implementation and/or ongoing system enhancements.
