Under the direction of the Director of the MUSC Conflict of Interest Office, this position is responsible for providing institutional compliance support related to Conflict of Interest (COI) regulatory requirements and institutional policies. This position will assist the COI Program to ensure adherence to institutional policies/procedures and regulatory requirements related to the disclosure, identification, evaluation, documentation, management, and tracking of actual/potential conflicts of interest in order to maintain compliance and institutional integrity. This position will report to the Director of the MUSC Conflict of Interest Office.Entity

Job Description
25% - Responsible for oversight of intake process of faculty, staff, and researchers’ financial/outside activity related disclosures for quality control and required corrective actions. Conduct initial evaluation of outside activities/financial interests in relation to institutional responsibilities and make an initial determination (based on relevant regulations/policy) as to whether potential conflicts of interest exist. 25% - Organize and manage the COI Program’s intake/documentation related processes including, but not limited to: disclosures, COI management plans, MUSC enterprise COI related inquiries/evaluations/investigations, Enterprise/Research COI committees, website, etc.; Evaluate current COI program administrative processes/procedures and research/identify potential opportunities to improve efficiency/effectiveness. 25% - Assist with the development of COI Office/Committee correspondence to faculty, staff, research personnel and
deans/department chairs regarding conflict of interest determinations, management plans, COI committee concerns or requests for supplemental information. This position will regularly correspond with individual faculty and staff members as well as academic and administrative units. Essential
20% - Assist with the prioritization and processing of COI reviews and disclosure related data analyses/reporting. In coordination with other Conflicts of Interest Program staff and MUSC compliance/legal staff, this position will assist with the development/administration of other campus-wide compliance initiatives that support the MUSC Enterprise’s extensive research program, innovation and commercialization programs/efforts, and other program initiatives. 5% - Perform other MUSC Conflict of Interest Office duties as assigned. Essential
Minimum Experience and Training Preferred: Experience in a university setting with a background in regulatory compliance, including research related compliance; Experience with the sponsored research process and understanding of research methodology; Microsoft 365, database/data management software experience; knowledge and understanding of regulations related to financial interests in research is preferred but not required.
