The Field Marketing and External Recruitment Coordinator is an entry-level professional who builds and implements strategies to recruit prospective students in support of the MUSC College of Health Professions’ strategic enrollment goals. As part of the CHP Marketing & Student Recruitment team, this role produces outreach events, prospective student communications and engagement, partnership building, and social media networking activities. Job Description
Job Duties
Field Marketing and External Recruitment Activities (30%)
Represent CHP and its programs while connecting directly with prospective students at virtual and in-person recruitment events (e.g., career fairs, club meetings, information sessions, panels, conferences).
Deliver tailored, compelling presentations highlighting program differentiators and outcomes.
Build an outreach event schedule that maximizes student touchpoints while maintaining cost efficiency.
Travel to technical schools, four-year colleges, and organizations across South Carolina and targeted southeastern states.
Collaborate with the marketing team to implement outreach campaigns, including role-based social media engagement with prospective students and partner organizations.
Strategic Outreach & Relationship Management (25%)
Develop, nurture, and track relationships with counselors, advisors, faculty, workforce development professionals, HR managers, and other key partners.
Conduct outreach to educational institutions, associations, health systems, and the MUSC regional health network.
Identify communication mediums and cadence (calls, emails, video, text, in-person) to drive referrals and promote CHP programs.
Develop and execute annual outreach plans to support recruitment goals.
Student Ambassador Program Management (15%)
Manage the CHP Student Ambassador program, including recruitment, training, scheduling, communications, and ongoing oversight.
Guide ambassadors in supporting recruitment through on-campus and virtual events, including tours, panels, and other activities.
College Recruitment Programming (15%)
Plan and execute CHP on-campus recruitment events and support MUSC-wide prospective student events.
Manage all aspects of event planning: scheduling, set-up, staffing, registration, communications, and outcomes tracking.
Oversee all aspects of CHP campus tours.
Partner with the marketing team to promote events, including creating tailored presentations and materials.
Engagement Tracking & Reporting (10%)
Track and analyze recruitment KPIs via MUSC’s CRM platform. Use data to refine strategies and measure progress toward lead generation and enrollment goals.
Ensure activities align with stakeholder goals, collaborating with division directors, faculty, and campus partners.
Monitor student data trends and stay current on regional/national recruitment best practices.
Recruitment Team Support (5%)
Support CHP’s Marketing and Student Recruitment team initiatives.
Provide occasional assistance to the Student Engagement Office and participate in student-related activities across CHP and MUSC.
Minimum Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree and relevant program experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience as a college ambassador or in student recruitment, event coordination, sales, marketing, business development, or related fields (internship experience acceptable).
Familiarity with the health care industry is a plus.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Comfort with public speaking and engaging diverse groups.
Compassionate, empathetic, and motivational interpersonal style.
Understanding of higher education and prospective student motivations.
Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to engage with individuals at varying professional levels.
Demonstrated ability to follow instructions, complete detailed assignments independently, and maintain accuracy.
Exceptional communication, presentation, teamwork, and customer service skills.
High attention to detail.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to travel up to four days a week during peak recruitment season (September-October, and February-March). Typical travel during peak season ranges from 1 to 3 days per week. Ability to work a flexible schedule outside of traditional office hours (after 5 p.m. and weekends) to meet the needs of our prospective students. Ability to lift heavy objects and materials within the office environment.
