Job Description

Responsible for troubleshooting and resolving moderate complex network issues. Provides preventative actions recommendation for network issues. Serve as technical resource for all information and/or telecommunication network systems support. May serve as Team Lead on projects. Provides monitoring of telecommunications and/or network systems to include problem analysis, tracking and resolution. Assist in documenting information for telecommunications and/or networking systems changes and/or procedures. Assists with designing hardware configurations and install hardware. Assists with planning, design, and evaluations relative to communication networking and operations layouts. Assists with coordinating operation of system; maintains all system documentation; monitors all system maintenance; maintains records of equipment and replacement plan. Trains users in the proper utilization of hardware and software; writes training manuals. Assists with evaluating technologies and makes recommendations for adoption. Assist in documenting information and/or telecommunication network systems outages, changes, and procedures.  Responsibilities:

 

35% Support daily operations of Card Access and CCTV systems including response to programming requests. Provide routine maintenance for controllers, lantronix devices, locks, and power supplies.

 

15% Maintain campus burglar and duress alarm systems and coordinate new installations. Troubleshoot/reprogram alarms. Train others team members on alarm systems operations.

 

15% Maintain Campus Emergency Call Box system. Perform weekly equipment testing and repair inoperable boxes.

 

15% Maintain department’s Body-Worn Camera inventory, software, and evidence capture processes. Troubleshoot/repair equipment. Assign equipment and train users.

 

10% Assist Card Access and CCTV users in proper operation and provide training. Provide programming services to special badging projects.

 

5% Participate with on-call schedule.

 

5% All other duties as assigned.

Additional Job Description

Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma and two years experience in information technology, electronics technology systems, or other related areas. An associate's degree or bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience.
