Job Description Summary

The Hollings Cancer Center and the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) invite applications for Research Assistant Professor. Job Description

This position involves substantial collaborative engagement with Hollings Cancer Center investigators and Shared Resource leadership, with a primary emphasis on scientific, operational, and strategic oversight within the Translational Science Laboratory. Responsibilities include providing advanced scientific consultation and technical leadership in support of cancer research and oncology clinical trials; contributing to the design and implementation of correlative science strategies; and leading training activities for faculty, staff, and users in advanced workflows, instrumentation, and assay design. The Research Assistant Professor will also support Shared Resource sustainability through participation in cost recovery planning, assay evaluation and modernization, workflow optimization, and utilization and reporting activities aligned with institutional and NCI expectations. Additional duties include contributing to compliance and regulatory activities consistent with MUSC policies and federal guidelines, supporting cross‑core collaborations, and assisting with data tracking, analysis, and reporting to inform operational and strategic planning. Strong data analysis and organizational skills are required. Prior experience in an NCI‑designated cancer center or shared resource environment is preferred.
