Job Description Summary
The Hollings Cancer Center (HCC) Grants Administrator I serves as a key point of contact for HCC members and departmental administrators, providing expert support for external grant submissions. This role guides investigators through the pre-award process, including budget development, interpretation of sponsor guidelines, and ensuring compliance with institutional and sponsor requirements. The Grants Administrator also manages limited submission opportunities, supports proposal development initiatives, and maintains data related to external submissions and the Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG). This position offers the option to work remotely up to 2 days per week, subject to a standard 3 to 6-month probationary period. Remote work eligibility is at the discretion of management and may be adjusted based on training progress and performance.Entity

15% Management of Progress Report Submissions
15% Cancer Center Program Administration and Other Program Support
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Science, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in grant management.
• Strong understanding of NIH reporting, biosketches, publication requirements, and grant mechanisms;
familiarity with NIH RePORTER.
• Proficiency in data entry, reporting, and database management.
• Experience with survey tools, RFA creation, and Excel.
• Strong critical thinking, organizational, communication, and time management skills

Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration or the social sciences and four years experience in contracts and grant administration activities.
