Job Description
The Research Associate will, under the supervision of the senior biostatistician, provide statistical support to nursing and health sciences research projects. Responsibilities include developing analytical data sets and interim and final analyses of clinical studies, preparing reports for Data and Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB)s, and contributing to manuscripts drafts and NIH-compliant data repositories. The Research Associate may also assist in preparing grant applications, reviewing protocol drafts, participating in interdisciplinary study teams, and supporting the design and implementation of appropriate statistical analyses. As appropriate, the candidate will engage with faculty, postdocs, and students conducting research in the College of Nursing and assist with teaching, training, and/or mentoring in statistical methods or software.
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements
• Experience with SAS is essential; experience with other appropriate statistical software including R and SPSS, as well as Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap) is highly desired.
• Candidates should have excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Applicants should have a master’s degree in biostatistics, applied statistics, or related field. A Master’s in Public Health with a concentration in biostatistics, or a degree in medical informatics or bioinformatics with substantial biostatistical training in biostatistics may be considered equivalent.
• Prior experience working in research is desirable.
