Job Description
Research Auditing (35%): Coordinate, schedule, and conduct independent audits of human subject research activity. Evaluates and identifies audit findings to ensure research policies and procedures are being followed and recommend course of action for improvement. Works with research teams during the audit to provide mitigation for research compliance risks. Reports findings to compliance and research leadership.
Research Compliance (25%): Performs research compliance assessments and activities. Participates in the response plan for violations of associated policies, and provides communication to internal departments, including remediation steps. Works with management to develop the scope, objectives, and auditing methodology for audits to concur with regulatory changes. Documents audit results and findings for internal review. Evaluates findings to confirm controls are implemented as designed and are operating effectively. Performs follow-up review on issues noted in prior audits to confirm they are not repeated.
Research Compliance Program Awareness (20%): Initiates, facilitates, and promotes communications and training educational activities to reinforce compliance program awareness throughout the organization.
University Compliance (15%): Contributes to the implementation of compliance programs and associated policies, standards, procedures and controls within the organization. Works with managers to provide mitigation for compliance risk. Investigates complaints and adopts appropriate steps to respond to and address the complaints. Supports management by overseeing the compliance communication channels, maintaining the departmental shared drive, the University Compliance website, and Compliance Management system.
Prioritizes and manages several projects simultaneously; meet strict deadlines; other duties as assigned. (5%)
