The Program Assistant will work within the research program of Dr. Trisha Amboree in the Department of Public Health Sciences (DPHS) and Hollings Cancer Center (HCC) at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) to assist in the management and advancement of existing research projects and the establishment of new research projects.
More specifically, the Program Assistant will be supporting Dr. Amboree with research projects surrounding access to and utilization of cancer prevention and healthcare services among a variety of populations.
Job Duties:
25% Conducts patient and provider surveys for relevant projects.
20% Maintains up-to-date knowledge of the status of assigned program area(s) and current knowledge of community resources and services (specific to cancer prevention/screening resources
20% Assists with data analysis and interpretation.
10%Assists in grant submissions, progress reports, and IRB protocols.
10% Performs routine office tasks, such as filing, copying, faxing, shipping packages or other general office duties as needed.
5% Provides technical assistance and administrative support to staff and management within the department (DPHS/HCC).
5% Actively participates in a variety of committees or task forces as requested by management staff or the department manager or director when essential to the ongoing success of current tasks, duties, and obligations within their role, job responsibilities and/or objectives verticals in an assigned level of management within MUSC.
5% Organizes materials, such as brochures, cards, newsletters or other promotional materials required by the program and/or studies.
MUSC Minimum Training and Experience Requirements:
A high school diploma and three years of relevant program experience. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required program experience.
Additional Knowledge, skill, ability preferred:
- Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies and procedures relevant to the area of employment.
