The biostatistician position is expected to design, analyze, and compile data in conjunction with the faculty member/principal investigator for research studies and approved quality projects using scientific methods.
Job Duties:
30% Assist department faculty with statistical analysis of data for research projects designed to generate national meeting presentations and publications from research studies: This will include the interim and or final data analysis of datasets of varying sizes that result from the clinical trials coordinated by the department of radiology. Derived datasets will be created by the biostatistician, validation of analyses and programs will be conducted and reports that includes tables and figures, descriptions of methods used and interpretations of results will be included.
30% Biostatistician will assist the department with necessary preview of ideas and proposals for appropriate utilization of statistical services.
30% Participate in study design development as needed: This will include working with the principal investigator and other clinicians on proposals in which analysis plans are described, sample size justifications are proposed, and results are presented in a clear and transparent manner for interpretation by the appropriate audience.
10% Report generation for clinical trials: This will include on-going clinical trials require regular reports on data quality, safety and (in some cases) efficacy. The biostatistician will work closely with the study team on centralized risk-based data monitoring to evaluate quality of the incoming data.

A bachelor's degree and one-year professional experience involving the collection, analysis, interpretation and presentation of quantified data. A master's degree in statistics may be substituted for the required work experience
