Job Description Summary

The Undergraduate Nursing Recruiter is responsible for executing recruitment strategies that support enrollment goals for undergraduate nursing programs. This role manages prospective student engagement from inquiry through enrollment, coordinates recruitment events and outreach efforts, and serves as a primary point of contact for prospective students and families. The recruiter works collaboratively with admissions, academic leadership, and student services to ensure a seamless and student-centered recruitment experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree and one year of experience in student services.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in higher education recruitment, preferably in nursing or health professions education

  • Strong presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills with diverse audiences

  • Experience planning and executing recruitment events, campus visits, and student engagement initiatives

Job Responsibilities:

20%-Coordinates with current faculty, students and alumni regarding recruitment to include, tracking and follow up with applicants and for assistance with specific and targeted recruitment activities. Plans, coordinates and implements information sessions, private on-campus visits, travels to colleges, hospitals and communities to promote all College of Nursing's educational programs. Attends student recruitment fairs. Conveys admissions information to prospective students, evaluates transcripts and counsels students regarding admission standards.

20%-Refers students to appropriate office(s) for completion of application, enrollment processes, and financial aid/scholarship information. Collaborates with the Office of Enrollment Management Admissions team to advise students on application process and timeline. Serves as Student Services user of NursingCas  - the College of Nursing's centralized application system. Participates in developing goals and objectives for recruitment as well as identifying any projected budget needs. Prepares an annual report of recruitment activities accomplished during the academic year for the Dean's Office. Prepares end of semester reports, including metrics, at the end of each semester for Director of Marketing & Communications.

10% Responsible for networking and building relationships with schools, hospitals and community organizations, as well as Directors, Chief Executive Officers, Chief Nursing Officers of Nursing programs. Communicates with pre-professional advisors to help foster exposure to the health care professions. Presents information for discussion/decision making and develops a referral network to access potential students.

10%-Serves as an integral member of the Office of Marketing and Communications, supporting recruitment, admissions, enrollment, and graduation functions. Assists with the planning and execution of key events such as the Stethoscope Ceremony, Pinning, Convocation, and Commencement.

10%-Under the direction of the Director of Marketing and Communications, evaluates current marketing materials and strategies for recruitment. Scans the environment and identifies and develops content and ideas for new marketing and recruitment materials (print, online, social media, etc) and strategies. Assists in the graphic development of recruitment materials. Implements new technology ideas to enhance current recruitment and market initiatives.

10% Manages CON Student Ambassador program by actively recruiting, training, overseeing and supporting ambassadors.

10% Serves as the College of Nursing (CON) SuperUser for REACH Anthology, the University’s CRM system. Utilizes the platform to input, manage, communicate with, and track prospective students; develops and annually updates automated communication journeys (email and text); and leverages reporting tools to inform and strengthen recruitment initiatives. Represents CON at campus-wide REACH meetings and collaborates on system enhancements and best practices.

5% Facilitates and coordinates group campus visits and pipeline experiences by scheduling and hosting high school and partner groups, collaborating with College of Nursing faculty and staff to create engaging programs, participating in the summer AHEC program, and managing guest logistics including parking validation and bus accommodations.

5% Works directly with the Well-Being Officer to create and implement a comprehensive recruitment plan, including the evaluation of current marketing, social media, and recruitment strategies (e.g. pipeline programs) and developing new initiatives to enhance recruitment and retention of students of all backgrounds in the College of Nursing. Serves as a member of the Well-being Council, and the Associate Director of Student Retention and Success to execute activities and events to enhance engagement in student initiatives and participates in related community events.
