Job Description Summary

The Vascular Interventional Radiology Quality Assurance Technologist (VIRQAT) functions in a hybrid capacity, supporting both Vascular & Interventional Radiology (VIR) operations and Imaging Quality initiatives through a combination of clinical, operational, and quality-focused responsibilities.

Reporting directly to the Technologist Supervisor, with a dotted-line relationship to the System Director of Quality, Accreditation, and Education for Imaging Services, this role supports the advancement of quality, safety, and compliance efforts across the department.

The VIRQAT contributes to technologist staffing, supply coordination, quality assurance activities, and staff education. This position plays a key role in supporting departmental workflows, promoting best practices, and assisting with ongoing training and development initiatives. Additional duties may be assigned to meet departmental and organizational needs.

Job Description

Education: Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology

Experience: At least 2 years of VIR Technologist Experience 

Required Registration/Certification:

  • Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R), required.
  • Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider
