Any insight on pharmacy jobs, a good fit, local areas to live working for this health system, and pay? We would appreciate any information! I am also a Nurse looking to work there as well upon retiring in 2027!
Hi! That's great to hear that you're considering moving to Charleston from Alaska!
In terms of pharmacy jobs, Charleston has several health systems and hospitals where your husband could potentially find employment. Some notable ones include the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) - check out Hollings Cancer Center, Roper St. Francis Healthcare, and Trident Health System. These institutions often have infusion centers and oncology departments that may require the expertise of an oncology PharmD.
When it comes to finding a good fit and a local area to live, it would depend on your preferences and priorities. Some popular areas include Downtown Charleston, Mount Pleasant, James Island, and West Ashley. Regarding pay, salaries for pharmacy professionals can vary depending on factors such as experience, qualifications, and the specific employer.
As for your nursing career, it's fantastic that you're considering working in Charleston upon retiring in 2027. The aforementioned health systems and hospitals may be good places to start your search.
Check out our MUSC Careers webpage to search for jobs in the area: https://musc.career-pages.com/jobs/search
Good luck with your plans, and I hope you both find fulfilling opportunities in Charleston!
