About Rebecca S.

Key experience
Started as a technologist to leading a team and now educating others.
My career started as a Radiologic and MRI Technologist working in a hospital environment. After several years of working in multiple clinical and hospital environments, I took on a leadership role as the lead MRI technologist which quickly turned into Imaging Supervisor. My leadership path while pursing a Bachelors in Health Care Administration lead me to a Director role of a private orthopedic practice. After several years in that role and over 20 years of experience in Radiology, I made a career change to work in Radiology education. I wanted to teach and work with current Radiology and Advanced Imaging students in a hospital environment. My choice on a career change has allowed me to manage other educators and clinical instructors to provide the robust educational experience for students. Also, I get to work in partnership with other Imaging leaders to provide education, resources, and mentorship for care team members. My role as added on an new adventure of recruitment and retention which allows me to share with potential and current hires all the great benefits of working for MUSC.
Current position

As System Radiology Education Program Manager, I lead, develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based, quality and educational programs and activities that promote professional competency and role performance for radiological clinical staff as well as Radiology student education. Work alongside leadership team on recruitment and retention.
Main motivation
Being a part of MUSC Education and seeing growth in care team members
I enjoy being able to work with clinical students and share knowledge with them about Radiology. It is rewarding to watch them grow into confident technologist as the MUSC clinical environment provides them with resources for critical thinking. I also enjoying working with teams to provide educational and growth resources for care team members.
