Executive Opportunity
MUSC Health is transforming Supply Chain into an enterprise strategic business function. This executive role leads the enterprise outsourced managed services strategy while providing executive oversight for the Strategic Sourcing of Purchased and Managed Corporate Services. The Executive Director is responsible for aligning supplier strategy with business strategy through trusted executive partnership, market surveillance, commercial excellence, executive governance, and transformational operating models.
Position Purpose
• Lead enterprise outsourced managed services and strategic sourcing functions across all indirect service domains.
• Provide leadership to the Category Directors and Managers responsible for supporting all business units and subsequent strategies, including supplier performance monitoring.
• Shape enterprise strategies through supplier innovation, responsible procurement, sophisticated commercial negotiations, and market intelligence.
Enterprise Strategic Partnership
• Serve as the principal commercial advisor to executive leaders, partnering before procurement activities begin to influence business strategies and operating models.
• Translate organizational priorities into executable category strategies that accelerate digital transformation, operational excellence, and financial stewardship.
• Advise leaders on build-versus-buy decisions, outsourcing, co-sourcing, AI-enabled delivery models, automation, and strategic partnerships.
Managed Services & Commercial Strategy
• Develop enterprise strategies for outsourced managed services, business process outsourcing, shared services, and future enterprise initiatives.
• Lead negotiations for master services agreements, transformation engagements, and outcome-based commercial models.
• Balance innovation, supplier accountability, flexibility, implementation risk, and measurable business outcomes.
Contracting Intelligence & Supplier Governance
• Establish enterprise market surveillance capabilities evaluating supplier markets, AI, pricing, labor dynamics, and emerging commercial models.
• Develop best-in-class supplier ecosystems, contract requirements discipline, and executive governance through steering committees, executive business reviews, innovation councils, supplier scorecards, and value realization reporting.
Organizational Transformation
• Design the future-state commercial operating model for strategic sourcing and outsourced managed services.
• Build enterprise capabilities in category management, analytics, supplier governance, AI-enabled procurement, and value realization.
• Mentor junior and senior leaders and cultivate a culture of executive partnership and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree required; graduate degree preferred.
• 11 years progressive work experience.
• 6 years of management experience.
• Large healthcare system or Fortune 500 experience preferred.

Job Description
Executive Director for a department or a business unit. Manages two or more professional and support staff including subordinate managers. More discretion and greater financial authority than lower management levels. Directs the analysis, planning, implementation, and expenditures and budget tracking of major operational projects or initiatives. Provides recommendations to the leaders throughout the organization. Leads in developing strategies and implementation plans to improve and standardize all aspects of operations. Works independently and in collaboration with leadership to support the budget process and meeting key operational goals. Collaborates with leaders to establish operating procedures, enhance clinical and non-clinical workflows, increase productivity, and improve overall quality outcomes and operational efficiencies within a variety of delivery settings. Establishes department policies and procedures. This role will serve as the primary liaison for the department. Manages and influences relationships with senior management team, administrators, functional area managers and staff to achieve best in practice performance and business results.
