Job Summary

As an Emergency Department LPN, you'll play a vital role in providing compassionate, patient- and family-centered care in a fast-paced clinical setting. Working alongside physicians, registered nurses, and other healthcare professionals, you'll help assess, treat, and support patients with a wide range of medical conditions—from routine concerns to life-threatening emergencies.

You'll use critical thinking, sound clinical judgment, and strong communication skills to ensure patients receive timely, high-quality care while maintaining dignity, respect, and compassion.

Responsibilities Include

  • Provide patient-centered nursing care within the LPN scope of practice.
  • Assist providers with patient examinations, treatments, and procedures.
  • Obtain and document patient histories, chief complaints, vital signs, and assessments.
  • Perform telephone and in-person patient screenings.
  • Accurately document patient care and maintain medical records according to hospital policies.
  • Prioritize patient needs and communicate changes in condition to providers.
  • Assist with medication-related calls and provider orders as directed.
  • Prepare, clean, stock, and maintain examination and treatment areas.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure excellent patient outcomes.

Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program.

Licensure & Certification

  • Current South Carolina LPN license (or Compact State License).
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
