Key Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostic mammography procedures following established protocols and physician orders
Apply radiation safety measures, including the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principle
Exercise professional judgment in imaging techniques and patient care
Identify and respond to patient conditions requiring urgent medical attention; initiate life support measures when necessary
Provide essential patient care throughout the imaging process
Maintain effective communication and professional relationships with colleagues, other departments, and Medical Staff
Participate in on-call coverage for imaging services as needed
Additional Job Description
Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program. Work Experience: 0-2 years of independent mammography experience required. Registration/Certification: Current registration from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) and certified in mammography. Licensed by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA).Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
