MUSC Health Lancaster Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Staff Mammogram Technologist to join our Radiology team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient imaging services using mammography and other diagnostic imaging modalities, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and accurate results in compliance with professional and regulatory standards.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic mammography procedures following established protocols and physician orders

  • Apply radiation safety measures, including the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principle

  • Exercise professional judgment in imaging techniques and patient care

  • Identify and respond to patient conditions requiring urgent medical attention; initiate life support measures when necessary

  • Provide essential patient care throughout the imaging process

  • Maintain effective communication and professional relationships with colleagues, other departments, and Medical Staff

  • Participate in on-call coverage for imaging services as needed

Additional Job Description

Education:  Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program. Work Experience: 0-2 years of independent mammography experience required. Registration/Certification: Current registration from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) and certified in mammography. Licensed by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA).Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
