About: Seeking a dedicated and experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Primary Care/Occupational Health team based at the Horry County Wellness Center in Conway, South Carolina. This health center provides primary care, occupational medicine to employees, retirees and dependents with 3600 members. The APP will primarily provide on-site primary and occupational healthcare services to the employees and their dependents. The role is office-based, offering a consistent outpatient schedule within an employer-supported clinic environment with access to specialty and sub-specialty care. This role involves direct patient care, collaboration with healthcare professionals, and contribution to the development of health partnerships within the industry setting.
Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program with current licensure or eligibility for licensure in South Carolina.
AGPNP/ANP (Adult Gerontology Primary Care NP or Adult NP): Adult pts (13 years to death), stable chronic disease state management or primary care setting.
FNP (Family NP): (birth to death) Stable chronic disease state management, primary care across the lifespan.
Currently licensed (or eligible) in the state of South Carolina as a Physician Assistant by the South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners or as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with the SC Board of Nursing.
APRN or PA must maintain licenses, certifications, CNEs/CMEs, etc. as required by applicable policies and state law.
DHEC and DEA license
Basic Life Support (BLS)
DOT Certification (or willing to obtain prior to start)
Experience in an occupational health and/or primary care setting
Position Highlights:
7am-5pm Monday, Friday; 8am-5pm Tuesday-Thursday, various Saturday a month for public safety physicals.

Initiates referrals to other health care provides, and/or consults with the attending physician or the collaborating physician

Potential to precept students at MUSC enrolled as an advanced practice provider student; and facilitates the learning of other new team members

Job Duties:
Provides direct care to patients through the following activities:
Takes comprehensive history and performs physical examinations
Evaluates and treats on the basis of history, physical examination, radiological, laboratory, and other diagnostic test results pursuant to the practice agreement or scope of practice guideline
Performs the following therapeutic procedures in accordance with procedural privileges, skill and proficiency as approved by the Supervising/Collaborating Physician
Initiates referrals to other health care providers, and/or consults with the attending physician or the collaborating physician
Documents and bills for direct care provided
Utilizes current research and evidence-based decision-making in all clinical practice
Performs and participates in quality/performance improvement activities and clinical research
Participates in and supports accreditation, compliance, and regulatory activities of the organization
Demonstrates responsibility for professional practice through active participation in professional organizations and continuing education
Potential to precept students at MUSC enrolled as an advanced practice provider student; and facilitates the learning of other new team members

Clinical Care
Provide high-quality primary care services to patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
Conduct occupational health assessments, pre-employment physicals, and manage work-related injuries and illnesses.
Offer health education and preventive care to promote overall wellness.
Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs.
Occupational Health
Perform occupational health evaluations and screenings.
Manage occupational injuries and illnesses, ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.
Collaborate with employers to develop and implement workplace wellness programs and health policies.
Conduct workplace visits and on-site health assessments as needed.
Collaboration and Partnership
Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case conferences.
Develop and maintain partnerships with university departments, local healthcare providers, and community organizations.
Engage in research and quality improvement initiatives related to occupational health and student wellness.
Administrative Duties
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters and care plans.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
Participate in the development of clinic policies and procedures.
Contribute to the training and mentorship of students and staff.
Skills
Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.

Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous quality improvement.
Completion of an approved US DOT FMCSA MRCME training program and successful passing of the NRCME certification examination within six months of hire
