Work environment includes sterile storeroom, surgery settings, and all units that Sterile Processing services. May be exposed to hazardous conditions, infections and infectious diseases.
In order to perform the essential functions of this position, you must be able to stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, talk, hear, lift at least 50 pounds, push, pull or exert energy up to 75% of the time. Must also have clear vision at 20 inches or less.
Able to read with comprehension and interpret business or safety manuals, clinical or technical procedures or regulations; write reports, correspondence or manuals; effectively present information and respond to questions from other employees and medical staff.
This position primarily interacts with other RMC staff and provides no direct patient care. All staff members must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to meet the physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related needs of the persons in the assigned work area.
Additional Job Description
High school diploma or GED equivalent; Knowledge of medical terminology, instrumentation, surgical procedures and some experience in the healthcare setting is preferred; Must complete the Sterile Processing training program and receive certification within one (1) year of hiring into the position.
