The CDHC Program Advisor & Instructor plays a key role in supporting the success and sustainability of the Community Dental Health Coordinator (CDHC) Program. This individual will support the Program Director in providing instruction to participants, facilitating course activities, and collaborating on curriculum evaluation and improvement efforts to ensure the program remains sustainable, relevant, and impactful.Entity

25% Instruction & Course Facilitation: Delivering course content, facilitating learning activities, reviewing assessments, and supporting participants through program completion.
25% Curriculum Review & Program Evaluation: Collaborating with the Program Director to assess and improve curriculum content, instructional methods, and program outcomes.
25% Partner Engagement & Program Integration: Supporting CDHC implementation within dental hygiene training programs, working with external partners and faculty.
15% Participant Mentorship & Advising: Providing individualized guidance, career coaching, and skill application support to current and prospective CDHCs.
10% Administrative Support, Outreach & Other Duties: Assisting with outreach, data tracking, recruitment, program reporting, and other assigned responsibilities.
Additional responsibilities may include:
Reviewing and providing feedback on participant assessments
Assisting with participant tracking and program evaluation
Representing the program at events or conferences
Supporting recruitment and outreach efforts
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree with at least one degree in dental hygiene.
This may include either:
A bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene, or
An associate degree in dental hygiene and a bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., public health, health education, behavioral science)
Active licensure by the South Carolina State Board of Dentistry
CDHC (Community Dental Health Coordinator) certification
Two years of relevant program experience (e.g., in public health, dental hygiene education, or community-based oral health programs)
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated skill in mentorship, instructional delivery, or technical assistance within professional or academic settings
Experience with curriculum review, program evaluation, or interprofessional collaboration
Strong communication skills and comfort representing programs at events, conferences, or stakeholder meetings
MUSC Physical Requirements:
