A full-time Project Coordinator I (PC I) is needed to oversee an NCI-funded research project focused on cancer caregivers at the Hollings Cancer Center. The Coordinator will work with researchers, clinicians, and caregivers in the clinical setting. The coordinator will oversee recruitment, data collection, and data management activities for this study.
Job Duties:
1. 20% Screen and enroll study participants independently. Conduct and/or document consent for participants in minimal risk studies. May conduct consent for studies greater than minimal risk under direct supervision.
2. 15% Develop recruitment strategies, plans, and tools. Engage the community, physicians, and collaborators to identify barriers to recruitment.
3. 15% Oversee data collection, data entry, and data management activities.
4. 15% Perform literature reviews and assist with grant-writing and manuscript development tasks.
5. 10% Prepare and manage regulatory documentation and oversee the reporting and communications for scientific and IRB review. Collect, prepare, or process adverse events under supervision.
6. 10% Prepare, participate, and/or lead team meetings. Take an active role in decision-making. May be responsible for trouble-shooting issues and communicating with other team members accordingly.
7. 5% Encourage and support colleagues in completing project work. Assist with identifying efficiencies and improving processes.
8. 5% Develop systems and documents including process flows, training manuals, and standard operating procedures to be used unit, department, or division wide.
9. 5% Supervise study team members.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Preferred:
A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience.
General understanding of scientific theory and methods.
General computer skills and ability to quickly learn and master computer programs.
Ability to perform multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines, while maintaining accuracy and quality.
Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to complete detailed work accurately.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work with human study participants, both in person and virtually.
Preferred Education & Experience:
A master’s degree in a related field or at least 2 years of experience in coordinating research trials (i.e., database and survey development, recruitment, screening, enrollment, and database management, analysis and reporting). Candidates should be detail-oriented, personable, and have good problem-solving skills. Preference will be given to individuals with experience in Social Work, Counseling, or Public Health areas.
