MUSC Health - Orangeburg is also hiring new graduate nurses. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. If you're interested, please contact Malarie Shuler at shulemal@musc.edu.

At MUSC, we conduct behavioral-based interviews, typically lasting around 30 to 45 minutes.

We wish! However, the answer is, unfortunately, no. Our critical care and Children's and Women's units typically receive high interest.* If these are your only units of interest, you may not receive an interview.

To improve your chances of receiving an interview, consider applying to other units of interest, such as acute care, intermediate care, and other critically needed areas at MUSC Health.

*Please note: applications for these areas as well as emergency department nursing roles close earlier than those for other areas - August 2 instead of September 1. Please plan accordingly.

Unit representatives and hiring managers will contact potential candidates to schedule interviews. Virtual and in-person interviews will take place in August or September 2024, depending on what areas you're interested in:

  • August 12-16: Interviews for Children's and Women's, Adult ICUs, and Adult Emergency Departments
  • September 9-13: Interviews for all other units take place

We anticipate extending conditional offers to successful candidates depending on their area of interest:

  • Starting August 21 for Children's and Women's, Adult Emergency Departments, and Adult ICUs
  • Starting September 18 for all other units

Candidates will then have 48 hours to verbally accept or decline the offer. After verbally accepting, candidates have an additional 48 hours to accept the offer online and complete onboarding information.

No. Once you have begun your onboarding process, you may not apply for other MUSC Health opportunities. Although we recommend you complete one year of employment, care team members are eligible to apply for other MUSC opportunities after completing their first six months.

We typically host a new graduate interview blitz in the spring and fall of each year, but we also hire new graduates throughout the year. You may apply for any Registered Nurse I position at any time.

Absolutely, please reach out to Alexis Cunliffe, Nursing Recruiter, at cunlife@musc.edu. We are happy to answer your questions. Thank you for your interest in joining our care team!

For questions about any open roles in Orangeburg, please contact Malarie Shuler at shulemal@musc.edu.

Intensive care is complex, which is why we created the Transition to ICU program. Training includes modules and orientation shifts in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Once training is completed, you will be scheduled for one or two 12-hour shifts in the ICU every two weeks. You don't have to transfer to the ICU; you can continue working in acute or intermediate care and ICU at the same time. If you're interested, let us know during your interview.

Please note that applications for adult ICU positions will close early - August 2 as opposed to September 1. Please plan accordingly.
