At MUSC, you’re a vital member of a high-performing histopathology team, helping clinicians diagnose early—and often lifesaving—disease. You’ll be empowered to:
• Microscopically screen and evaluate cytologic specimens (gynecologic & non -gynecologic) to determine pathology
• Identify and report abnormalities—supporting precise diagnoses
• Collaborate with pathologists on Pap smear assessments and reactive/reactive findings  Â
• Support fine-needle aspiration (FNA) bedside collections and adequacy reviews Â
• Participate in quality control and assurance processes in compliance with regulatory standards Â

🎓 Qualifications & Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Cytotechnology, Biology, or related (CAHEA-accredited program required) Â
• ASCP CT(ASCP) certification (or Pap PT eligible in the current calendar year), plus current Pap proficiency testing completion or eligibility Â
• A minimum of three years of full-time experience as a cytotechnologist within the past ten years
• Meticulous attention to detail, teamwork, and communication
