Job Description Summary

Inspects construction performed by contractors at the Medical University of South Carolina to ensure that work complies with the plans and specifications and has been done in accordance with pertinent codes, regulations, and standards of craftsmanship. Prepares reports detailing results of inspections, problems encountered and solutions devised. Plans and coordinates outages with customers and provides general supervision of construction work done by contractors and MUSC forces on alteration and repair projects. Ensures that work is done in accordance with plans and specifications in a timely and efficient manner with minimum adverse impact on existing, adjacent occupants.

Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma and four years professional experience directly related to the area of employment. Physical Requirements: (Note: The following descriptions are applicable to this section: Continuous - 6-8 hours per shift; Frequent - 2-6 hours per shift; Infrequent - 0-2 hours per shift) Ability to perform job functions in an upright position.
